Stress Busters Event

For little or no cost, a booth in the dining hall or student center can be set up with brochures and fact sheets that detail the risk factors and warning signs of problem gambling as it relates to stress. Schools can also disseminate their own stress related fact sheets, brochures, giveaways, etc.

With a little more money and some planning, an event can be planned to give away grilled or steamed hot dogs (protein for overworked students) or ice cream sundaes (a treat for poor students) under a tent outdoors, with information on problem gambling and/or brief discussions with a quiz.

Materials:

  • Stress fact sheet
  • College fact sheets
  • College brochures
  • College posters
  • Brief quiz to get conversation started
